Attorney Darryl Feldman of New York City; ethical troll

The District of Columbia presented Jason A. Dennis with a law license in 2017 after he graduated from the Thomas M. Cooley School of Law. Jason also obtained a license to practice in New Jersey in 2016, and Maryland in 2021.

The DC Bar Counsel found Jason guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Failed to reasonably inform his client of the risks of traveling abroad without authorization regarding client submission of an Adjustment of Status petition
  • Jason’s failure to inform client of travel risks, resulted in a letter from the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services stating that the client’s I-485 petition was withdrawn because she had left the United States and traveled to Canada
  • Failed to protect his client’s interests
  • Failed to keep his client reasonably informed about the status of a matter
  • Failed to comply with client information requests
  • Failed to explain a matter to the extent reasonably necessary to permit the client to make informed decisions regarding the representation
  • Although Jason entered an appearance on behalf of his client and was the attorney of record in immigration but failed to communicate with his client at any point
  • Failed to tell his client he was withdrawing
  • Waited to file motion to withdraw client representation one day before the client’s immigration status hearing
  • Failed to participate in court hearing on client immigration hearing and left the client unrepresented and did nothing to protect the client’s interest
  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the DC Bar Counsel punished Jason by gifting him with a complimentary 6-month suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. March 2024), Jason practices his so-called brand of law with Feldman Jackson at 60 East 42nd Street in New York, New York.
