Attorney Dawn Kornaker of Niagara Falls, NY; slacker, loser

The state of New York presented Dawn M. Kornaker with a law license in 2004 after she graduated from the State University University of New York (SUNY) Buffalo School of Law.

The Departmental Disciplinary Committee found Dawn guilty of the following misconduct.

• Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
• Neglected a legal matter entrusted to her
• Failed to keep client informed of status of matter
• Failed to comply with client information requests
• Withdrew from client representation with obtaining permission from trial court
• Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
• Engaged in conduct adversely reflecting on fitness to practice
• Failed to provide to a client in a domestic relations matter a written retainer agreement setting forth in plain language the terms of compensation and nature of services to be rendered
• Failed to provide client with itemized billing statements to at least every 60 days

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Disciplinary Committee punished Dawn by gifting her with a complimentary 1-year suspension of her law license.

In truth, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Disciplinary Committee didn’t mete out any meaningful punishment to Joey.

As we speak (ca. April 2019), Dawn will resume her practice at 717 Pine Avenue in Niagara Falls, New York in March 2019.
