Attorney Eric Mueller of New York City; convicted felon, serial liar

 

The state of New Jersey  presented Eric P. Mueller with a law license in 1989 after he graduated from Southern Methodist University (SMU) School of Law.

 

The New Jersey Office of Attorney Ethics found Eric guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Pled guilty in federal court to wire fraud, a felony
  • Made material misrepresentations to investors in scheme to defraud them
  • Intentionally and repeatedly lied to investors that their investments were secure
  • Submitted copy of fake lien and note with names of loan guarantors who had not signed their names to the note or authorized their signature
  • Falsely notarized note that he had not witnessed its execution
  • Delivered fake documents to physician to secure his $150,000 investments
  • Authored letter and sent to prospective physician investors falsely stating he had $834,000 of investor funds in his trust account for a real estate development project when in fact he held only $164

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the New Jersey Supreme Court punished Eric by gifting him  with a complimentary 3-year suspension of his law license.
