Attorney Jeffrey Jayson of Rochester, NY; thief, repeat offender

 

The state of New York presented Jason Matthias Jayson with a law license in 1991 after he graduated from the Columbus School of Law.

 

The Appellate Division Disciplinary Panel found Jeff guilty of the following misconduct.

 

Jeff’s 1st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Engaged in conduct involving dishonesty, fraud, deceit or misrepresentation
  • Engaged in conduct that is prejudicial to the administration of justice
  • Engaged in conduct that adversely reflects on his fitness as a lawyer
  • Entered into agreement for and/or charged or collected illegal or excessive fee
  • Withdrew representation w/o refunding unearned advance fee (thief)
  • Commingled client funds with personal funds
  • Failed to withdraw representation of client when required to so act
  • Engaged in a conflict of interest involving several clients
  • Handled matter he knew he was incompetent to handle (imbecile)
  • Intentionally failed to seek lawful objectives of client
  • Intentionally prejudiced or damaged client during course of representation
  • Failed to maintain client funds in special account
  • Failed to maintain complete records of all client funds coming into his possession
  • Failed to maintain required bank records
  • Failed to cooperate with ethics investigators (Up yours, said Jeff!)

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Appellate Division Disciplinary Panel punished Johnny by gifting him with a complimentary 18-month suspension of his law license.

 

Jeff’s 2nd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Engaged in conduct involving dishonesty, fraud, deceit or misrepresentation
  • Engaged in conduct that adversely reflects on his fitness as a lawyer
  • Failed to properly supervise of office staff
  • Withdrew from representation with required court permission
  • Neglected legal matter entrusted to him
  • Failed to carry out contract of employment

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Appellate Division Disciplinary Panel punished Johnny by gifting him with a complimentary 18-month suspension of his law license.

 

As we speak (ca. July 2016), Jeff practices with the Cambridge Court Offices at 76A Dodge Street in Rochester, New York.
