Attorney Matthew Palentchar of Colonia, NJ; ethical gremlin

The state of Florida presented Matthew Glenn Palentchar with a law license in 2004 after he graduated from Ohio Northern University Law School, which is a 3rd tier school dedicated to losers that couldn’t gain acceptance at mainstream schools like Michigan State, UCLA, Ohio State or the University of Toledo.

The State Bar of Florida found Matthew guilty of the following misconduct.
  1. Engaged in the unauthorized practice of law while his law license was suspended
  2. Failed to respond to Bar disciplinary inquires (Up Yours, said Matthew!)
  3. Failed to communicate with clients regarding status of their cases
  4. Failed to properly maintain client trust account records
  5. Refused to comply with subpoena to produce trust account records to State Bar investigators
  6. Wrote checks on insufficient account (rubber)
Because Attorney Misfits in Florida are held to much lower standard of conduct then everyone else, Matthew was never criminally charged for writing bad checks.

In one matter, Matthew acted as closing agent for the sale of real property to buyer, James Neaf. Matthew failed to timely record the deed and failed to respond to attempt by Mr. Neaf and his realtor to follow up on the matter of the deed.

In another matter, Andrew Burt hired Matthew to represent him in a civil dispute with a builder. Burt paid Matthew a $1500 fee; however, Matthew failed to act with reasonable diligence and promptness in providing the agreed upon legal services to Burt.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Florida Supreme Court punished Matthew by gifting him with a complimentary 91-day suspension of his law license. .

As we speak (ca. November 2012) Matthew practices as the managing partner with the Law Offices of Matthew Palentchar at 16 Caton Avenue in Colonia, New Jersey.
