Attorney Markis Abraham of Jersey City, NJ; slacker, loser

The state of New Jersey presented Markis Miguel Abraham with a law license in 2002 after he graduated from Rutgers University School of Law.

The New Jersey Office of Attorney Ethics found Bruce guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Engaged in improper business transaction with a client
  • Commingled client funds with personal funds
  • Failure to maintain a separate ledger sheet for each client
  • Improperly used trust account for funds unrelated to legal practice
  • Trust funds on deposit were in excess of total trust obligations
  • Failed to prepare a schedule of clients’ ledger accounts
  • Failed to maintain client trust account records for seven years

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the New Jersey Supreme Court punished Markis by gifting him with a complimentary 3-month suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. January 2024), Markis practices his so-called brand of law at 35 Journal Square in Jersey City, New Jersey.
