Attorney Robert Dato of Woodbridge, NJ: greedy loser

The state of New Jersey presented Robert F. Dato with a law license in 1965 after he graduated from Rutgers University Law School.

The New Jersey Office of Attorney Ethics found Bobby guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Engaged in an egregious conflict of interest in representing the seller (his client) and the buyer (his client) in a real estate transaction
  • Conduct aimed at client was abominable
  • Motivated by greed in underhanded dealings with client re: sale of her house
  • Engaged in a pattern of self-dealing to detriment of client
  • Lied to client about sale price of her home to be about $85,000
  • 10 days after paying client $85,000 for her home Bobby sold it for $150,000
  • Bobby pocketed an unconscionable $52,000 re: underhanded sale of client’s home

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the New Jersey Supreme Court punished Bobby by gifting him with a complimentary 1-year suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. November 2017), Bobby practices in Woodbridge, New Jersey.
