Attorney Francis Crotty of Franklin Lakes, NJ; ethical leprechaun

The state of New Jersey presented Francis P. Crotty with a law license in 1975 after he graduated from Fordham University Law School.

The New Jersey Office of Attorney Ethics found Francis guilty of the following misconduct.

• Failed to comply with client information requests
• Failed to explain a matter to the extent reasonably necessary to permit the client to make informed decisions regarding the representation
• Made false statement of material fact or law to a tribunal
• Failed to disclose fact knowing omission to so act certain to mislead the tribunal
• Engaged in illegal practice of law in unlicensed venue
• Made false or misleading communications about his services or a matter in which he has or seeks a professional involvement
• Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty or misrepresentation
• Violated Rules for use of firm name, letterhead, or other professional designation

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the New Jersey Supreme Court punished Francis by gifting him with a complimentary censure.

As we speak (ca. January 2017) Francis practices in Franklin Lakes, New Jersey.
