Attorney Thomas Grodt of Derry, NH; lying slacker

The state of New Hampshire provided Thomas D. Grodt with a law license in 1997 after he graduated from the University of New Hampshire Law School.

The Professional Conduct Committee on Professional Standard found Tommy guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to timely file answers to discovery requests
  • Failed to respond to summary judgment motion filed v. client
  • Failed to respond to opposing counsel’s motion for attorney fees
  • Caused avoidable harm to his clients
  • Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty or misrepresentation
  • Failed to communicate with client
  • Failed to keep client informed of status of legal matter
  • Failed to comply with client information requests
  • Failed to explain the legal and practical aspects of a legal matter and alternative courses of action to allow client to make informed decisions regarding the representation
  • Made false statements to ethics investigators (Up yours, said Tommy!)
  • Violated or attempted to violate the Rules of Professional Conduct, knowingly assisted or induced another to do so, or did so through the acts of another

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on The Professional Conduct Committee on Professional Standard punished Tommy by gifting him with a complimentary stayed 3-year suspension of his law license.

In truth, the comedians sitting on the Professional Conduct Committee didn’t mete out any meaningful punishment to Tommy.

As we speak (March 2017), Tommy practices in Derry, New Hampshire.
