Attorney Kent Person of Holdrege, NE; moronic slacker

The state of Nebraska presented Kent E. Person with a law license in 1968 after he graduated from Creighton University Law School.

The Disciplinary Counsel found Kent guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to provide competent legal services (moron)
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to act with candor toward tribunal
  • Failed to inform his client that the state inheritance tax was past due and was accruing interest and penalties
  • Trial court issued at least three show cause notices to hold hearings on whether he should be held in contempt
  • Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty or misrepresentation
  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  • Repeatedly failed to see that the estate was properly administered
  • Engaged in repeated acts of indifference to the clerk magistrate’s communications and orders
  • Exhibited indifference to his responsibility to communicate with his client and his duty as an officer of the court to communicate
  • honestly with the tribunal

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Nebraska Supreme Court punished Kent by gifting him with a complimentary 2-year suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. April 2018), Kent practices with Person DeWald and Deaver PC at 413 East Avenue in Holdrege, Nebraska.
