Attorney Edwin Pittman Jr. of Hattiesburg, MS; ethical gremlin

The state of Mississippi presented Edwin Pittman Jr. with a law license in 1988 after he graduated from the University of Mississippi Law School.

The Mississippi Judicial Commission found Eddie guilty of the following misconduct.

At the time of his misconduct, Eddie served as a Municipal Court Judge in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.

While serving as a judge, Eddie signed a warrant for the arrest of Euriquez Moreno, for the charge of Driving Under the Influence (DUI). Subsequently, Eddie signed manslaughter and two counts of DUI mayhem against Moreno. Eddie then went about setting bond for Moreno at $150,000.

At the same time, Eddie accepted $4,000 from Moreno’s family as a retainer to represent Moreno regarding the aforementioned criminal charges. Eddie then appeared in court as Moreno’s defense counsel regarding said criminal charges on several occasions.

Apparently, Eddie the Dufus didn’t do well at law school while attending classes on what constitutes a conflict of interest.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Mississippi Supreme Court punished Eddie by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. November 2014), Eddie practices with the Pittman Law Office at 5295 Old Highway 11 in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.
