Attorney Thomas Kraus of Waseca, MN; ethical ogre

The state of Minnesota presented Thomas J. Kraus with a law license in 1983 after he graduated from Pepperdine University School of Law.

The Office of Lawyer Regulation found Tommy guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Engaged in a conflict of interest
  • Failed to properly account for use of client funds
  • Used improper fee agreement for an advanced, flat fee, conditioning return of client file on payment of the fee in a fee agreement
  • Authorized legal assistant to improperly notarize an affidavit
  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  • Engaged in conduct involving dishonesty, fraud, deceit, or misrepresentation

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Minnesota Supreme Court punished Tommy by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As one would suspect, Tommy fails to mention the above misconduct on his self-serving website at www.krauslawoffices.com.   Apparently, he chose to conceal this relevant information from prospective clients for the purpose of not limiting his future victim pool.

As we speak (ca. February 2020), Tommy practices at 1601 State Street in Waseca, Minnesota.
