Attorney Frank Campbell, Jr. of Boston; ethical dwarf

The state of Massachusetts presented Frank Campbell, Jr. with a law license in 1978.

The Board of Bar Overseers found Frank guilty of misconduct as a result of his conduct in concluding the guardianship of an elderly incapacitated ward.

Frank served as guardian for the ward for several years until the ward’s death. After the ward’s death, the attorney for the executor of the ward’s estate filed a petition with the probate court requesting that Frank be ordered to render an account of the ward’s estate in the guardianship matter. The court ordered Frank to render an account but he failed to do so.

After Frank’s initial refusal to abide by the judge’s order, the judge issued several more, all of which Frank ignored. This led the judge to find frank guilty of contempt and to order that he pay the executor’s attorney’s fees and costs. Frank refused to pay the fees and costs as ordered, which led the court to find him in contempt again and sentence him to 10 days in jail. The judge suspended the sentence when Frank paid the $3,700 prior to being incarcerated.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Board of Overseers punished Frank by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. December 2012) Frank continues to practice at 140 Boylston Street in Boston, Massachusetts
