Attorney Richard Rubin of Springfield, MA; cheating slacker

The state of Massachusetts presented Richard J. Rubin with a law license in 1985 after he graduated from Boston University Law School.

The Board of Bar Overseers found Dick guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to respond to client information request
  • Dismissed client appeal due to Dick’s negligence
  • Failed to obtain medical records on client’s behalf
  • Failed to research the defendant's address and identify the defendant's insurance company
  • Failed to have the complaint served on the defendant because he failed to obtain the defendant's correct address or insurance carrier
  • Failed to communicate with client about his case
  • Failed and neglected to communicate with the client about his case
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to provide competent representation (moron)
  • Handled legal matter without adequate preparation
  • Neglected a legal matter entrusted to him
  • Intentionally failed to seek client’s lawful objectives
  • Engaged in conduct adversely reflecting on fitness to practice

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Board of Overseers punished Dick by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. July 2018) Dick practices with the Committee for Public Counsel Services at 101 State Street in Springfield, Massachusetts.
