Attorney Richard Bridges of Augusta, ME; ethical misfit

The state of Maine presented Richard Bridges with a law license in 1983 after he graduated from Catholic University Law School.

The Maine Grievance Commission found Richard guilty of the following misconduct.
  1. Failed to act with reasonable diligence (slacker)
  2. Failed to properly communicate with clients
  3. Charged a clearly excessive fee (crook)
  4. Failed to return property to client after being discharged
  5. Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  6. Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonest or misrepresentation
  7. Failed to respond to Commission request for information (Up Yours, said Richard!)
  8. Wasn’t candid [lied] when speaking with commission investigator
Richard represented Kenneth Russell in regards to an insurance claim for a fire that destroyed his home. Though Richard did assist Kenneth in obtaining a settlement for personal property destroyed in the fire, he neglected his duty with respect to the additional claim regarding the destroyed real estate. What a loser!

As a consequence of her misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the grievance panel punished Richard by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (Sept 2012) Richard practices at 47 Eastern Avenue in Augusta, Maine.
