Attorney Neil Levith of New Orleans; ethical misfit
The state of Louisiana presented Neil P. Levith with a law license in 1975 after he graduated from Tulane University Law School.
The Office of Disciplinary Counsel found Neil of the following misconduct.
On numerous occasions, Neil found it acceptable to write checks to casinos in Louisiana to satisfy his gambling habit. However, in doing so, he was found guilty of commingling funds.
An audit concluded that, as a result of the payments to various casinos, there was a conversion of trust funds in the amount of $5,571.67.
In addition, at the conclusion of the Department of Insurance examination of Neil’s expenditures, he was fined $5,000 for violating the Insurance Code.
As a consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Louisiana Supreme Court punished Neil by gifting him with a complimentary 180-day suspension of his law license.
As we speak (ca. July 2013) Neil practices with Bayou Title, Inc. at 8020 Crowder Blvd in New Orleans, Louisiana.
