Attorney Theodore Hovda of Garner, IA; repeat offender

 

The state of Iowa presented Theodore James Hovda with a law license in 1977 after he graduated from the University of Iowa Law School.

 

The Iowa Supreme Court Disciplinary Board found Teddy guilty of the following misconduct.

 

Teddy’s 1st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

 

  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  • Engaged in conduct adversely reflecting on fitness to practice law
  • Neglected a client’s case
  • Consistently delinquent in handling probate cases

As a consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Iowa Supreme Court punished Teddy by gifting him with a complimentary 60-day suspension of his law license.

 

Teddy’s 2nd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

 

  • Failed to maintain the integrity of the legal profession [What’s new?]
  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  • Neglected a client’s legal matter
  • Engaged in conduct adversely reflecting on fitness to practice law

As a consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Iowa Supreme Court punished Teddy by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

 

As we speak (ca. January 2015), Teddy practices at 395 State Street in Garner, Iowa.
