Attorney Jay Mez of Council Bluffs, IA; potty mouth drunk

The state of Iowa presented Jay Warner Mez with a law license in 1984 after he graduated from the University of Iowa Law School.

The Iowa Supreme Court Disciplinary Board found Jay guilty of the following misconduct.

• Pled guilty to driving under the influence (DUI)
• Charges of carrying two weapons in his vehicle were dismissed after Jay pled guilty to driving under the influence
• Pled guilty to disorderly conduct
• Hollered at girlfriend by saying “Get the fuck out of my car”
• Bragged about status as attorney prior to DUI arrest
• Engaged in conduct adversely reflecting on fitness to practice

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Iowa Supreme Court punished Jay by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.
