Attorney Alice Horneber of Sioux City, IA; ethical goblin

The state of Iowa presented Alice Schumacher Horneber with a law license in 183 after he graduated from the University of Iowa Law School.

The Iowa Supreme Court Attorney Disciplinary Board found Alice guilty of the following misconduct.

• Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
• Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty or misrepresentation
• Failed to represent client within the bounds of law
• Counseled and assisted her client to engage illegal or fraudulent conduct
• Provided less than credible explanations for misconduct to grievance committee
• Enabled client to provide fraudulent deeds to government authorities
• Advised her client to lie to the IRS
• Failed to recognize the wrongfulness of her conduct

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the Cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Iowa Supreme Court punished Alice by gifting her with a complimentary 2-year suspension of her law license.

As we speak (ca. February 2018), Alice practices with the Horneber Law Firm PC at 401 Douglas Street in Sioux City, Iowa.
