Attorney Cynthia Winkler of Salem, IN; lying loser

At the time of her misconduct, Cynthia was employed as the Prosecuting Attorney for Washington County.

• Knowingly made a false statement of material fact to a third person
• Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty or misrepresentation
  

In one matter, Cynthia improperly seized the notes taken by a defendant during a deposition in a criminal proceeding and then attempted to conceal the seizure when questioned by the defendant’s attorney.

As a consequence of her misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Indiana Supreme Court punished Cynthia by gifting her with a complimentary stayed 120-day suspension of her law license.
