Attorney Louis Bertrand of LaSalle, IL; ethical dwarf

The state of Illinois presented Louis L. Bertrand with a law license in 1984. He also obtained a law license from Iowa in 1977.

The Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission found Louie guilty of the following misconduct.

• Neglected a client’s case
• Made a misrepresentation (lied) to client
• Mismanaged funds client had given him for filing fees

As a consequence of his misconduct, the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Illinois Supreme Court punished Louie by gifting him with a complimentary 60-day suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. February 2014) Louie practices at 613 First Street in LaSalle, Illinois.
