Attorney Mark Brabec of Gilberts, IL; convicted wife beater

 
The state of Illinois presented Mark Edward Brabec with a law license in 1996.
 
The Disciplinary Commission found Mark guilty of the following misconduct.
 
Wife-beating conviction
 
Mark was involved in an argument with his wife at their home. At that time Mark spit at his wife, grabbed her by both arms, and pushed and kicked her. Shortly thereafter, he was arrested and charged with domestic battery. He later pled guilty a reduced charge of battery in exchange for a sentence of a one-year period of supervision. He was also ordered to complete 26 weeks of domestic violence counseling at the Mel Gibson Institute for Wife-beaters located in Santa Monica, California.
 
Disorderly conduct conviction
 
In this instance Mark was involved in an argument with his wife at their home, wherein he grabbed the phone away from her and pulled the cord of the wall to prevent her from calling the police. Mark was arrested and charged with interfering with a report of domestic violence. Subsequently, Mark was found guilty of disorderly conduct and again sentenced to a one-year period of supervision and ordered to complete a court in anger management at the Charlie Sheen Institute for Anger Counseling located in Beverly Hills, California.
 
As a consequence of his misconduct, the supporters for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Illinois Supreme Court punished Mark by gifting him with a complimentary 60-day suspension of his law license. .
 
As we speak (ca. September 2012) Mark practices at 96 Summit Drive in Gilberts, Illinois, which is about 50 miles northwest of Chicago.
