Attorney Becky Dahlgren of Lisle, IL; ethical dwarf

The state of Illinois presented Becky Lynn Dahlgren with a law license in 1976.

The Disciplinary Commission found Becky guilty of the following misconduct.
  1. Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty or misrepresentation
  2. Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  3. Engaged in conduct tending to bring the legal profession into disrepute
Becky thought it was acceptable to engage in perpetrating a fraud on the court when she filed for bankruptcy.

In her bankruptcy petition, Becky failed to disclose $40,000 in annual income from her law practice. She also admitted that she didn’t disclose substantial bonuses and commissions her husband earned. She also didn’t list three pieces of property she owned in Florida, a second mink coat, and several televisions.

Becky also included her mortgage and property tax payments as current monthly expenditures, even though she hadn’t been making those payments for quite some time.

As a consequence of her misconduct, the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Illinois Supreme Court punished Becky by gifting her with a complimentary censure 9-month suspension of her law license.

Because Attorney Misfits in Illinois are held to a much lower standard of conduct then everyone else, Beck was never criminally charged with obstruction of justice or for perjury.

As we speak (ca. September 2012) Becky practices with Dahlgren Legal Services Ltd. at 919 Kimberly Way in Lisle, Illinois, which is 26 miles west of Chicago.
