Attorney Mark A. Hamill of Glen Ellyn, IL; cheating slacker

The state of Illinois presented Mark A. Hamill with a law license in 1991 after he graduated from the John Marshall School of Law in Chicago.

The Office of Disciplinary Commission found Mark guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

• Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
• Failed to communicate with client
• Failed to refund unearned fee (cheater)
• Knowingly made false statement to his client
• Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty, or misrepresentation
• Intentionally lied to his client that her patent application was still pending
• Abandoned client’s patent matter
• Failed to respond to client emails, texts and calls
• Failed to cooperate with ethics investigators (Up yours, said Mark!)

All that remains now is to see what if any punishment is meted out to Mark by the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Illinois Supreme Court.
