Attorney Gregory Silverman of Northbrook, IL; cheating slacker

The state of Illinois presented Gregory James Silverman with a law license in 1995 after he graduated from Chicago-Kent School of Law.

The Illinois Registration and Disciplinary Commission found Greg guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Mishandled client funds
  • Initially failed to cooperate with ethics investigators (Screw you, said Greg!)
  • Converted a total of $2,435.67 that he was holding in connection with three client matters for his personal use (cheater)
  • Failed to produce bank records that had been requested in a subpoena issued by ethics investigators (Up yours, said Greg!)
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty or misrepresentation
  • Failed to promptly deliver to the client or third person any funds or other property that the client or third person is entitled to receive
  • Engaged in conduct which tends to defeat the administration of justice or to bring the courts or the legal profession into disrepute

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Illinois Supreme Court punished Greg by gifting him with a complimentary 2-month suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. April 2019), Greg practices with the Law Offices of Gregory J. Silverman at 3827 Russett Court in Northbrook, Illinois.
