Attorney Thomas Burns of Chicago; lying fraudster

The state of Illinois presented Thomas J. Burns with a law license in 1996 after he graduated from the Loyola University Law School.

The Disciplinary Commission found Tommy guilty of the following misconduct.

In one matter, Tommy, without authority, used two checks belonging to his then-girlfriend to pay approximately $800 he owed the telephone company. Tommy also made a false statement in an application for a credit card, by claiming to be employed as an attorney at an annual salary of $58,000 when in fact he was not employed.

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Illinois Supreme Court punished Tommy by gifting him with a complimentary 2-month suspension of his law license.

As we speak (September 2017), Tommy practices with O'Connell Tivin Miller & Burns, LLC at 135 S La Salle Street in Chicago, Illinois.
