Attorney Burton Brown of Chicago; convicted tax cheat

The state of Illinois presented Burton A. Brown with a law license in 1975 after he graduated from Hamline University Law School.

The Illinois Registration and Disciplinary Commission found Burton guilty of the following misconduct.

In one matter, and in accordance with a written plea agreement, Burton pled guilty to willfully failing to file and pay over federal payroll tas returns over a four-year period of time. Burton’s criminal conduct led to a total tax loss to the federal government of $170,809.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Illinois Supreme Court punished Burton by gifting him with a complimentary censure.

As we speak (August 2016), Burton practices with the Law Offices of Burton A. Brown at 171 North Clark Street in Chicago, Illinois.
