The state of Illinois presented Steven Wayne Berg with a law license in 1978 after he graduated from Southern Illinois School of Law.
The Illinois Registration and Disciplinary Commission found Stevie guilty of the following misconduct.

Obtained unearned fees by wrongfully demanding portions of the clients’ pension benefits as additional compensation

Neglected two clients’ personal injury matters, resulting in the claims becoming time-barred

Misled [lied] to one of his clients about the status of her case

Failed to adequately communicate his intended fee to his client

Acted without his client's authority in communicating with SERS (State Employee Retirement System)

Acted intentionally and dishonestly to divert the SERS check to his office without client's knowledge so he could pay himself alleged attorney fees

Failed to adequately communicate with client

Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice

Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty or misrepresentation
As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Illinois Supreme Court punished Stevie by gifting him with a complimentary 6-month suspension of his law license.
As we speak (ca. April 2019), Stevie practices with Berg & Robeson PC in Springfield, Illinois.
