Attorney Benson Barrera of Boise; convicted pugilist

The state of Vermont presented Benson Barrera with a law license in 2005 after he graduated from the University of Maine Law School.

The Idaho Bar Counsel found Benson guilty of the following misconduct.

In one matter, Benson was charged with felony aggravated assault. The charge stemmed from an incident in which Mr. Barrera head-butted another man in a public place. Benson described it as a bar fight with a former girlfriend’s ex-husband.

Subsequently, a jury found Benson guilty of aggravated assault. He was then sentenced to 60 days in jail and a five-year term of probation.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Idaho Supreme Court punished Benson by gifting him with a complimentary stayed 1-year suspension of his law license.

In truth, the comedians sitting on the Idaho Supreme Court didn’t mete out any meaningful punishment to Benson.

As we speak (ca. March 2014) Benson practices with the Barrera Law Office in Boise, Idaho.
