Attorney Roy Yoshino of Honolulu; ethical leprechaun
The state of Hawaii presented Roy M. Yoshino with a law license in 1974 after he graduated from the University of California Hastings Law School in San Francisco.
The Office of Disciplinary Counsel found Roy guilty of the following misconduct.

Failed to abide by client’s diction to accept offer of settlement

Knowingly assisted or induced another to violate rules of professional conduct

Knowingly made a false statement of material fact or law to third person

Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty or misrepresentation

Failed to abide by client’s decisions concerning objectives of representation

Failed to keep client reasonably informed about status of legal matter

Failed to promptly comply with client requests for information

Commingled client funds with personal funds

Failed to deposit client funds in client trust account as required

Failed to return client records to clients after being discharged

Failed to provide required written fee agreements for seventeen (17) clients

Failed to provide written settlement statements to at least 3 clients as required

Failed to notify two clients of his withdrawal as their attorney

Failed to take reasonable steps to protect client’s interests after being discharged

Faield to properly label client trust accounts
As a consequence of his misconduct, the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on Disciplinary Counsel punished Roy by gifting him with a complimentary 1-year suspension of his law license.
