Attorney Erik W. Kvam of Honolulu, HI; cheating loser

The state of Hawaii presented Erik W. Kvam with a law license in 2003 after he graduated from Georgetown University School of Law.

The Office of Disciplinary Counsel found Erik guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Erik displayed a dishonest or selfish motive
  • Committed multiple violations in the present matter
  • Refused to acknowledge the wrongful nature of his conduct but
  • Misrepresented to a corporation that the entirety of the $59,750.00 fee paid to him was for legal services, when a significant portion was instead paid to the employee as a commission
  • Failed to communicate the basis or rate of his fees to a new client within a reasonable time  after commencing the representation
  • Invoiced, and received from, his client $59,750.00 for 59.75 hours of legal work, asserting a rate of $1,000.00 an hour, thereby charging an unreasonable fee (cheater)
  • Failed to act in the best interest of his corporate client

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on Disciplinary Counsel punished E

Erik by gifting him with a complimentary 2-year suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. June 2023), Erik practices his so-called brand of law with Hawaii Energy Law Services at 1750 Kalakaua Avenue in Honolulu, Hawaii.
