Attorney Patrick Powell of Dacula, GA; ethical dwarf

The state of Georgia presented Patrick Anthony Powell with a law license in 1998 after he graduated from Emory University Law School.

The Georgia State Bar found Patrick guilty of the following misconduct.

In one matter, Pat was hired by a client whose home had been damaged by a windstorm and lightning strike to handle issues regarding his homeowner’s policy.

Subsequently, Pat filed a lawsuit in superior court and the case was later transferred to federal court on the defendant’s motion. Thereafter, Patty did not promptly respond to defendant’s discovery requests; promptly supply information needed for the joint preliminary report and discovery plan; promptly return his client’s telephone calls; or file a response to defendant’s motion to dismiss.

As a consequence of Patty’s negligence in failing to respond to the motion to dismiss, his client’s case was dismissed by the court.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Georgia Supreme Court punished Patrick by gifting him with a complimentary 90-day suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. February 2014), Patrick practices with Patrick Powell & Associates at 2173 Hamilton Mill Parkway in Dacula, Georgia.
