Attorney Richard Buckley, Jr. of Tifton, GA; ethical dwarf, repeater

The state of Georgia presented Richard R. Buckley, Jr. with a law license in 1985 after he graduated from Woodrow Wilson Law School.

The State Bar of Georgia found Richard guilty of the following misconduct.
  1. Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  2. Failed to communicate with client
  3. Failed to advise client of status of her legal matter
In one matter, a client, who was a resident of Ohio, paid Richard $750 in connection with a change of custody action regarding her 15-year-old son.

Over the course of two months, the client made numerous calls to Richard, but he failed to return them. Subsequently, the client fired Richard and demanded that he return her file to her, which he refused to do for 18-months.

As one would suspect, this wasn’t Richard’s 1st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree. He previously received three (3) so-called confidential letters of admonition in 2003 and 2011, all of which involved similar conduct of failing to communicate with clients and failing to ac promptly on client matters.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists of Attorney Misfits sitting on the Georgia Supreme Court punished Warner by gifting him with a complimentary 120-day suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. May 2013) Richard practices with the Buckley Law Office at 409 Love Avenue in Tifton, Georgia.
