Attorney Alfredo Xiques of Miami; ethical goblin

The state of Florida provided Alfredo Domingo Xiques with a law license in 2002 after he graduated from Miami University Law School..

The Florida State Bar found Alfredo guilty of the following misconduct.

In one matter, Alfredo acted as the closing attorney on a real estate transaction for four long-standing clients. He notarized the signature of his cousin, who was present at the closing. At his cousin’s request, Xiques then notarized the signatures of the three remaining people involved in the transaction, even though they were not present.

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Florida Supreme punished Alfredo by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.
