Attorney Donald Hilland of San Fernando, CA; ethical gremlin

The state of California provided Donald Arthur Hilland with a law license in 2005 after he graduated from the University of West Los Angeles Law School, which is a Fourth Tier Law School dedicated to taking on losers that could not get accepted into mainstream law schools such as USC, UC Davis, Stanford or Pepperdine.

The California State Bar Court found Donnie guilty of the following misconduct.

• Improperly charged advance fees for loan modification services
• Violated California law by not advising client in writing that he could obtain a loan modification without the help of a third party [sleazy lawyer]
• Altered day of fee agreement
• Attempted to mislead State Bar concerning his loan modification services

As a consequence of his misconduct, the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfit s sitting on the California State Bar Court punished Donnie by gifting him with a complimentary 60-day suspension of his law license.
