Attorney Nicholas Tepper of Laguna Beach, CA; moronic slacker

The state of California presented Nicholas Tepper with a law license in 1997 after he graduated from Tulane University School of law.

The State Bar Court found Nate guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Failed to provide competent representation (moron)
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to promptly pay funds owing to his client
  • Failed to take reasonable steps to avoid client prejudice upon being terminated
  • Failed to release client file to client after termination
  • Failed to deposit client funds into designated trust account
  • Failed to refund unearned fees (cheater)
  • Failed to render accounting of client funds to his client
  • Failed to inform client of significant development in client matter
  • Entered into improper client contract charging non-refundable fee
  • Improper withdrawal of client representation
  • Failed to cooperate with ethics investigators (Screw you, said Nate!)

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the State Bar Court punished Nate by gifting him with a complimentary 18-month suspension of his law license and assessed investigative costs of $19,494.12.

As we speak (ca. September 2023), Nate practices his so-called brand of law with the Tepper Law Firm at 1968 South Coast Highway in Laguna Beach, California.
