The state of California provided Michael Gordon York with a law license in 1979 after he graduated from Loyola University School of Law.

The California State Bar Court found Mikey guilty of the following misconduct.

• Failed to perform legal services on client’s behalf for more than three years after filing lawsuit
• Failed to timely serve defendants
• Recklessly or repeatedly failed to perform legal services with competence (imbecile)
• Gross negligence led to dismissal of client’s lawsuit
• Failed to keep client informed of significant developments in matter
• Failed to open bank account for estate
• Failed to deposit settlement check prior to the letters of administration in probate matter being revoked
• Failed to timely obtain the bond in probate matter
• Failed to appear at several court-scheduled hearings on client’s behalf
• Misconduct significantly harmed his client
• Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the California State Bar Court punished Mikey by gifting him with a complimentary reproval.
