Attorney Michael Taggart of La Mesa, CA; repeat offender

 

The state of California provided Michael Bernard Taggart with a law license in 1986 after he graduated from California Western Law School in San Diego.

 

The California State Bar found Mike guilty of the following misconduct.

 

Mike’s 1st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Disobeyed court order
     
  • Failed to maintain client funds in trust account
  • Failed to provide account for trust
  • Failed to account for trust account funds

As a consequence of his misconduct, the supporters for Attorney Misfits sitting on the State Bar Court punished Mike by gifting him with a complimentary 9-month suspension of his law license.

 

Mike’s 2nd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Failed to provide competent legal representation (Moron)
     
  • Failed to refund unearned fees
  • Failed to take steps to avoid prejudice to his clients
  • Failed to account for fees
  • Failed to return files to client
  • Failed to cooperate with ethics investigators (Up yours, said Mike!)
  • Misappropriated (stole) client funds

As a consequence of his misconduct, the supporters for Attorney Misfits sitting on the State Bar Court punished Mike by gifting him with a complimentary 5-month suspension of his law license.

 

As we speak (ca. May 2015) Mike practices at 3755 Avocado Blvd in La Mesa, California, which is located in San Diego County.
