Attorney Mark Briggs of Phoenix; ethical misfit

The state of Arizona presented Mark K. Briggs with a law license in 1994 after he graduated from the University of Iowa Law School.

The Arizona State Bar found Mark guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Misconduct involved selfish motive
  • Failed to timely document loans between and among various limited liability companies in which he had an interest
  • Misconduct involved multiple offenses
  • Entered into business transaction with client on terms not fair to client
  • Failed to advise client in writing to seek independent legal advice prior to entering into business transaction with client
  • Engaged in a pattern of misconduct

As a consequence of his misconduct, the Cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Arizona Supreme Court punished Mark by gifting him with a complimentary 6-month suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. February 2015) Mark practices with the Briggs Law Group PLLC at 111 West Monroe Street in Phoenix, Arizona.
