Attorney Thomas Higgins Jr. of Tucson, AZ; cheater, repeater

 

The state of Arizona presented Thomas E. Higgins Jr. with a law license in 1975 after he graduated from the University of Arizona School of Law.

 

The Arizona State Bar found Tommy guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

 

Tommy’s 1st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty, or misrepresentation
  • Failed to act with candor in dealings with a trial court
  • Charged and/or collected unreasonable fees (cheater)
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to communicate with his client
  • Engage in a conflict of interest involving a prior client

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Arizona Supreme Court punished Becky by gifting her with a complimentary 30-day suspension of his law license, assessed investigative costs of $4,428.44, and ordered that he pay restitution to his former client in the amount of $2,500.00.

 

Tommy’s 2nd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Client writ of habeas corpus in federal court denied due to Tommy’s untimely filing of the writ
  • Despite filing several motions for extension of time to file the writ for his client, Tommy failed to so act
  • Tommy was paid $4,000 by the client for this negligent representation

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Arizona Supreme Court punished Becky by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.
