Attorney Jerry Cochran of Phoenix; repeat offender

The state of Arizona presented Jerry L. Cochran with a law license in 1976 after he graduated from Arizona State University Law School.

The Arizona State Bar found Jerry guilty of the following misconduct.

In one matter, Jerry represented a client in a civil lawsuit in Utah even though he wasn’t licensed to practice in that state.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders of Attorney Misfits sitting on the Arizona Supreme Court punished Jerry by gifting him with a complimentary censure.

Jerry’s lucky he wasn’t practicing in California. In Calfiornia, practicing law without a license is a felony.

  • Failed to properly supervise attorney staff
  • Failed to safeguard client funds

Jerry was a partner in a law firm that represented various lending entities in creating limited liability companies. The firm also acted as the disbursement agent for loan proceeds.

Some of the loan proceeds were held in interest-bearing money market accounts. Subsequently, Jerry became aware that his partner was embezzling fund from the accounts to support a gambling habit. The final losses totaled $2,954,000.00.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Arizona Supreme Court punished Jerry by gifting him with a 2nd complimentary censure.

As we speak (ca. July 2013) Jerry practices with the Cochran Law Firm PC at 2929 East Camelback Road in Phoenix, Arizona.
