Attorney Greg Clark of Phoenix; ethical dwarf

The state of Arizona presented Greg Clark with a law license in 1984 after he graduated from Arizona State University Law School.

The Arizona State Bar found Greg guilty of the following misconduct.

In one matter, Greg represented a minor in a juvenile transfer proceeding in which the minor was transferred to adult court.

The decision to transfer was reversed by the Court of Appeals on the basis that Greg had rendered ineffective assistance of counsel [Dufus].

Specifically, Greg did not present a second psychological evaluation or call the psychologist as a witness even though the evaluation was actually completed and available prior to the transfer hearing.

Making matters worse, Greg failed to cross-examine the court-appointed psychologist and the probation officer at the transfer hearing. Greg also failed to interview any of the state’s witnesses, never interviewed or called any witnesses to testify on his client’s behalf and failed to present evidence which might have mitigated against transfer. He also failed to argue for the juvenile transfer deferral program.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders of Attorney Misfits sitting on the Arizona Supreme Court punished Greg by gifting him with a complimentary censure.

As we speak (ca. July 2013) Greg practices at 45 West Jefferson Street in Phoenix, Arizona.
