Attorney Scott Blair of Scottsdale; repeat offender

The state of Arizona presented Gary Beren with a law license in 1985 after he graduated from the University of Arizona Law School.

The Arizona State Bar found Scott guilty of the following misconduct.

Scott entered into a business transaction with a client by obtaining a loan from the client. Initially, Scott didn’t pay back the loan and the client contacted the State Bar.

After the complaint was filed, Scott paid back the $20,000; however he never paid any interest on the loan to the client as he had agreed to do. Subsequently, the State Bar ordered that Scott pay the client 10% interest per annum on the loan.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders of Attorney Misfits sitting on the Arizona Supreme Court punished Scott by gifting him with a complimentary 60-day suspension of his law license.

In one matter, Scott was hired to assist in the structuring of a new company. At the request of the client, Scott presented a nondisclosure agreement to a third party listing himself as the owner of the new company, which if fact was patently false.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders of Attorney Misfits sitting on the Arizona Supreme Court punished Scott by gifting him with a complimentary censure.

As we speak (ca. June 2013) Scott practices with The Blair Law Firm PLC in Scottsdale, Arizona.
