Attorney Michael Freeman of Scottsdale, AZ; ethical dwarf

The state of Arizona presented Michael L. Freeman with a law license in 1988 after he graduated from Arizona State University Law School.

The Arizona State Bar found Michael guilty of engaging in the following misconduct

A client hired Michael regarding the sexual molestation of a minor. Michael petitioned the trial court for an order to compel the production of the minor’s counseling records; however, the trial court subsequently denied the request.

While the petition was pending, Michael served the minor’s counselor with a subpoena to produce the records without giving notice to the state, the minor or the minor’s legal representative. In so acting, Michael knowingly and intentionally violated the rights of the minor victim by obtaining the records without a court order. Michael apparently said to himself, “I don’t need no stinkin’ court order.”

As one would expect, this wasn’t Michael’s 1st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree. He was previously disciplined on at least one occasion for engaging in a variety of misconduct.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Arizona Supreme Court punished Michael by gifting him with a complimentary censure.

As we speak (ca. October 2012) Michael practices at 16427 North Scottsdale Road in Scottsdale, Arizona.
