Attorney Trini Armenta of Tucson, AZ; ethical gnome

The state of Arizona presented Trini Armenta with a law license in 1993 after he graduated from the University of Arizona School of Law.

The Arizona State Bar found Trini guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Misconduct involved selfish motive
  • Improperly denominated as "earned upon receipt," "nonrefundable" or in similar terms unless the client is simultaneously advised in writing that the client may nevertheless discharge the lawyer at any time and in that event may be entitled to a refund of all or part of the fee based upon the value of the representation
  • Engaged in a conflict of interest
  • Engaged in sexual relations with a client he represented in a divorce matter

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Arizona Supreme Court punished Trini by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand and assessed costs of the disciplinary proceeding in the amount of $1,200.00.

As we speak (ca. April 2019) Trini practices at 422 East 9th Street in Tucson, Arizona.

Fee agreement failed to include language that client could discharge Mr. Armenta at any time and be entitled to a refund of all or part of the fee, including the $500.00 “non-refundable” portion, based upon the value of the representation.
