Attorney Patrick Coppen of Tucson; moron, ethically dispossessed

The Arizona Supreme Court presented Patrick Coppen with a law license in 1993 after he graduated from the University of Arizona.

Recently the Arizona Supreme Court found attorney Coppen guilty of the following misconduct:
  1. Engaged in multiple conflicts of interest while representing clients
  2. Engaged in unlawful ex parte communications with a court
One of Patty’s conflicts of interest related to his representation of an attorney facing discipline before the State Bar and then later representing the attorney’s wife in a dissolution case. When his original attorney/client forced him to resign from this glaring conflict of interest, Patty then assisted the wife in her pro se petition for dissolution of the marriage while he continued to represent the attorney-client regarding additional State Bar disciplinary matters. And to top it off, Patty also appeared on the wife’s behalf in a domestic violence criminal charge in which his attorney/client was the alleged victim.

In a lame attempt at levity, Bobby defended his misconduct to the State Bar and Supreme Court by claiming he was suffering from some undisclosed personal and/or emotional problems. Clearly Bobby missed his calling as a standup comedian.

For his misconduct the enabler/apologists sitting on the Arizona Surpeme Court punished Bobby by gifting him with a complimentary censure and one year term of probation.

As we speak (June 2011) this loser continues to practice law at 63 East Pennington, Tucson, Arizona.
