State Rep. Jerry Sexton (R-TN): Today’s“Screwball” Award Winner

State Rep. Jerry Sexton (R-TN)

Today’s “Screwball” Award Winner

Jerry duped the voters in November 2014 into electing him as a member of the Tennessee House of Representatives. In addition to running a furniture manufacturing business, Jerry is also a Minister.

One of Jerry’s first attempts at passing legislation in Tennessee involved his loony proposal to make the Bible the official state book.

Jerry’s laughable legislation follows the inept attempts by his fellow loon, Mississippi state Rep. Tom Miles (D) who was a sponsor of the same laughable legislation. In support of his screwy proposal, Tommy said:

  • “The Bible provides a good role model on how to treat people.”
  • “They could read in there about love and compassion.”

If the Bible is going to be the state book in Tennessee, then Jerry should introduce legislation making it mandatory that all auto manufacturers shipping cars to Tennessee must place a Bible in the glove compartment.

Congrats Jerry; keep up the good work! We should let everyone know of your amazing record as one of Americas Least Appreciated “Screwballs”; you are far too humble.
