Sen. Tom Coburn (R-OK): Today’s “Screwball” Award Winner

Tommy is a right-wing ideologue who succeeded in duping the voters in Oklahoma into electing him to the U.S. Senate in November 2004.

Tommy belongs to a group of Morons in the House and Senate that actually believe that if there is a government default on its outstanding debts that it wouldn’t have much of a negative impact on the economy.

During a recent appearance on CNN’s “New Day” with Chris Cuomo, Screwy Tom said:

  • “I’d rather have a managed catastrophe now which I don’t think will be there.”

Tommy’s sole experience with managing any catastrophe probably took place while he was a practicing obstetrician in Oklahoma.

Suggesting that the country could have a “managed catastrophe” if we defaulted on our outstanding debts doesn’t pass the involuntary laugh test.

Maybe Tommy would support “managed catastrophes” when Oklahoma is hit with more Category 5 Tornados.

It would be nice if Tommy would enlighten us on how he would “manage” future “catastrophes” involving an F-5 Category Tornado in Oklahoma. Maybe he would suggest that FEMA first provide the homeless victims with a 2005 bottle of Marcassin Estate Chardonnay at $300 a pop.

Congrats Tommy; keep up the good work! We should let everyone know of your amazing record as one of Americas Least Appreciated “Screwballs”; you are far too humble.
