Rep:  Marsha Blackburn (R-TN); Today’s “Screwball” Award Winner

In 2003, Marsha duped the voters in the Nashville and Memphis area into electing her as their U.S. Congresswoman.

Marsha claims that she is a responsible fiscal conservative, which basically means she supports any legislation that favors millionaires and billionaires.

Marsha was recently interviewed on the Jansing & Co. show that airs on MSNBC. In regards to raising the debt ceiling, Marsh said she was willing to see a shutdown of the government in order to force spending cuts of her choosing by Obama.

Marshal also thought it would be appropriate to have short-term incremental (monthly) congressional votes to increase the debt ceiling. Of course Marsha and her fellow right-wing Screwballs in the House never made any such demands when Bush was president. Kind of gives hypocrisy a bad name!

When Jansing asked Marsha if she was willing to risk a default on the government’s obligations if she didn’t get the spending cuts she wanted, she said, “If it requires shutting down certain portions of the government, let’s look at that.”

Some political pundits on the left have referred to Marsha as a moron. I think in making these comments, these folks aren’t being fair to morons.

Congrats Marsha; keep up the good work! We should let everyone know of your amazing record as one of America’s most accomplished Screwballs; you are far too humble.
