Attorney Robert Gebert of Oak Park, IL; ethical gremlin  

The state of Illinois presented Robert Carl Gebert with a law license in 1986 after he graduated from Harvard University Law School.

Disciplinary Counsel found Bobby guilty of the following misconduct.

During the time Johnny represented a nonprofit company in various matters, he entered into agreements to lease and sell real property to that company on behalf of a separate company in which he had an ownership interest.

Bobby’s law firm later made a $25,000 loan to the nonprofit company’s executive director. At no time did Bobby ever disclose that his interests in the transactions could be adverse with the client’s interests.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Illinois Supreme Court punished Bobby by gifting him with a complimentary censure.

As we speak (ca. March 2015), Bobby practices with Gebert & Morley LLC at 137 North Oak Park Avenue in Oak Park,, Illinois.
